the track titles suggest a primitive minimalism (arcane, crushed, spectrate, and article are the four songs included)
so i was surprised to here a verity of styles and textures to this recording, the 3" cd-r opens with crackling and fuzzy 40 second glimpse, its a hodgepodge of sounds
some with cartoon deja vu,it peters out just in the right place,
it gets you in the right mood for the second track which focuses primarily on mixer feedback crunk but with sparser trial offs, track three
is more or less the same as track two more wild feedback with lots of mixer highs and lows,
it sounds good and the tracks range from a minuet to a minuet and a half, leaving lots of room and never tries your patience,
track four introduces some scarpy vocals that turn back and fourth from sweet and mumble-y into dinosaur roars and growls,
there is a wealth of sounds and fun textures involved here,
i don't know who this recording is really, battery has no website or myspace but they are connected/released by the neat California DIY cdr label
Nihil Underground who release unboring simple noise rock,
the art is a simple one fold printout, it has a foggy image of mosaic and broken glass, with what seems to be like eastern statues and shapes,
good stuff!
